Do you think they loose anything by table ripening them? We usually end up doing that at the end of the season because we run out of warm weather.

You are right. That combination is very impressive. I must say that pot is gorgeous. Is that the one from Arizona?

Keep in mind, this is luck and not knowledge. I have spring bulbs, next comes lavender, pincushion and some unidentified which blooms spring, summer. I also have a combination of lilies which bloom in sequence until late summer. I throw some inpulse buy annuals and leftover annuals from my containers between everything. The annuals usually last until the frost.

I was given a box of Canna Lily Roots(?) last night. Some had sprouts. Which should I pick to plant? Will there be time this late in the year for anything to happen? I might as well ask now-how do I dig them up to winter? Do I split anything?

I wanted to give my 2 cents on this one also suggesting impatiens, but I couldn't get registered-thanks Lavender. I like to plunk annuals in with perenials. I can control the spreading and I can try new plants after reading forums like this. The colors choices for impatiens seem endless anymore.
