May 2006

The spring clean up at the Brady Street lot

The first cleanup of the year. There's Pat dealing with the pesky roses. There she is again! Esther, Aline, Pat and Sharon clean up the rose fence. There's Linda picking up trash. Somebody brought a friend! Spring blossoms! Spring clean up at the library The littlest cleaner upper

Spring Plant Sale

The spring plant sale at BMP. We did this in conjunction with a really fun garage sale. Lunch was the traditional hot dogs and secret sauce.

That's Sharon, Pat and some customers. And there's Aline with some plants.

Embankment Cleanup

The Chamber embankment clean up was in May as well. We had a few people turn out for it. There weren't many pictures.

Larry cutting grasses And Julie pulling weeds. I know Monica was around somewhere but she was being camera shy.

The placing of the paving stones for the Brady Street Lot

Sizing up the area for the paving stones. Andy, Aline and her grandson dig out the area. Meanwhile, Esther has been weeding. Esther watches the final setting of the stone.

The planting of the new shrubs at the library

The boxes that were discovered at the library after the old bushes were removed. Andy with the finished product after the new plants were put in.

July 2006

July was filled with fundraisers. We raise the money to keep the City Beds full of beautiful plants by selling…….what else? plants.

July also brought our picnic

But it
Rained
And
Rained!

Fortunately, it cleared up for the Elliott Park High Mountain Festival where we had our usual booth.

Here we are at Community Days with Chen’s Chinese Foods. Esther and Tracy can be seen to the right in the chairs. Pat and Mary Jo are having a little chat while they hand out free plants. That is Linda discussing horticulture with some folks. Andy is in the background discussing tattoos with Tracy. Not all of those tattoos that are in Chinese mean what the wearer thinks they do according to Tracy. E-mail me for a close-up of Andy’s tattoo. I’m not allowed to post it. Appropriate dress for the picnic. It was lovely weather for ducks. Since it had been raining all month everyone knew where their umbrellas were. A nice picture of the Butterfly Bed that the club maintains. There’s Tony on the left. A nice close-up of the Butterfly Bed.  Is that yarrow? Here we are at the High Mountain Festival. That was the house plant table. The ones who weren’t out buying up other vendors plants. Do we have any idea what Aline is doing? Nap time. We did put this one in the newsletter and threatened to send it to the Courier. I think Larry was the culprit with the camera.
